We started Shabby Chic Country Living as  a  furniture and interiors shop specialising in selling old and antique pieces of furniture sourced directly from suppliers in Europe.

Now  Situated in Dorking’s South Street where we have been since the beginning of summer 2017  where previously we had been in Dorking’s world famous West Street once renowned for its antique shops.

A natural progression to smaller premises means we can stock smaller pieces of quality furniture and concentrate on our online sales a lot more  than previous

We still  source the furniture unpainted or in the original painted finish from suppliers in France, Holland, Hungary and other European locations.

Our aim is to provide you with country/rustic antique  furniture and furnishings to enhance any room in your home, whether you are a first-time buyer or just looking to add to your home furnishings.

In our online shop we want to showcase at very competitive prices, furniture from our suppliers that is readily available from bigger high street shops at a higher margin than what we will offer to you.

We will also be stocking good quality antique country furniture, be it a chest of drawers or dresser, along with hand-made cushions, scented candles and Hungarian clay glazed jugs. We also have many books for inspiration where you can browse through and get ideas.

We receive new pieces of furniture on a weekly basis, so our stock is constantly changing – see the products page for the latest offerings.

We also provide a furniture sourcing service to help you find that perfect piece – please call Simon: Tel:  01306 880026 / 07773 403900 to discuss.

Shabby Chic Country Living also supply hand-made bespoke furniture made from reclaimed timber that is antique in its own right. We use craftsmen from all over the UK who’s families have been making furniture for generations. We also use the skills of a local restorer and upholsterer.

Who we are

Shabby Chic Country Living is the creation of Simon who has over 20 years experience in buying and sourcing the individual, unique pieces that you will love to own!

“I want to offer my customers the chance to own the kind of pieces they look at in magazines or they have grown up with, at affordable prices. I buy furniture from all over France, England and Europe, whilst also using reclaimed timber and up-cycled old and previously used items such as Scottish whiskey barrels to create truly unique pieces – be they coat peg rails or tea-light holders – a fantastic gift for any occasion. I also have a quantity of French pine floorboards which I turn into rustic, painted coat pegs of various sizes.”

I am passionate about my shop and the pieces I source and want to offer my customers the chance to own a piece of furniture that has providence – a unique piece of pre-loved antique furniture. I will ensure you get an exquisite piece of quality furniture every time, whether an original piece of painted furniture or hand-painted by me or one of my many suppliers.

I have a varied range of constantly changing products – wardrobes and cupboards from Hungary, armoires and dressers from France and very decorative Dutch pine cabinets with glass and chicken wire, some painted and some in stripped pine. I also stock unique French glass display cabinets with applied gold graphics to the glazed doors.

I can source large or small family tables ideal for entertaining family and friends as well as offering a bespoke service for any size table required out of re-claimed period timber. The kitchen table is the heart of the home and I want to ensure that you are getting the best – whether it is a hand-crafted bespoke table made by our cabinet maker using reclaimed period pine timber or whether its a traditional farmhouse/dining table direct from France – you will have a table that you will love!

I use very reliable couriers who will deliver all over the UK on a daily and weekly basis. Please ask for a competitive quote for delivery. For smaller items we will package and wrap and use postal services.
